  • Finding Time for Your Children – 4 Key Time Management Tips for Parents

Finding Time for Your Children – 4 Key Time Management Tips for Parents

The modern lifestyle takes its toll on family life.

Many parents are crucified between their business obligations and their family matters.

A large number of partners and spouses have to work overtime to keep their jobs or just to make ends meet.

As a result, they can’t spend as much time with their children as they would like to.

That’s why it’s essential for an efficient family interaction to commit themselves to their kids in their free time.

    1. No gadgets during the quality time

According to the results of the study conducted by PEW research and published by Time magazine, about 20% of teens aged 14-17 spend more than seven hours a day looking at screens.

The results of another study, released by the Telegraph, show that 20% of adults spend 40 or more hours a week on their smartphones.

When these two studies meet, it’s clear that there’s no much room for focused, purposeful communication between parents and children.

Because of that, parents who want to strengthen their family bonds need to limit the time that family members waste using mobiles.

For instance, they can introduce a no-gadgets policy during meals or excursions in nature. That should be the time when they discuss not only family matters, but also exchange their interests and experiences.

However, bear in mind that the same rules should apply to both parents and children. If parents don’t obey their own rules, children will show a tendency toward breaking them, as well.

    1. Having at least one daily meal as a family

Many families eat together only at the weekend.

Children have their meals in school and parents eat at work.

People who grew up in some of the previous decades might remember that their parents had more time for these family routines.

When you’re having a meal, your mind switches to a more relaxed mode. That’s why people often have casual conversations and make more jokes during meals.

Wouldn’t it be nice to treat your family to such an experience just for a change? Instead of coming back home from home exhausted and nervous, parents should make an effort to give their best version to their children in general.

There are many TV-commercials that promote silly products by presenting perfect families that have breakfast together at the beginning of a workday. Well, the least you can do for your family is to organize your time, so you have at least one such gathering around the table every single day.

    1. Setting one weekly term for outdoor activities

The omnipresence of technology in every single part of our lives changed the way children play today.

We’ve already pointed out that they use gadgets for several hours a day. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it could become an issue if they don’t make up for this screen time with more time outside.

So, parents need to commit themselves to organize outdoor activities and trips in nature.

For instance, you can start from your balcony or terrace. Turning this area into a small playground with toys and games have a two-fold benefit.

On the one hand, they would spend time in the fresh air.

On the other hand, they would do some interesting activities with you, as well.

Apart from that, try to set one weekly term for outdoor activities. For instance, you can tell your kids that you’re going to visit a different outdoor place in your town every Wednesday.

Moreover, you should organize at least one trip in nature per weekend.

Some parents might complain that such activities are expensive. Sure, you can’t organize them without money but they don’t have to cost a fortune. For instance, you can make sandwiches or bring some simple meals like pasta with you.

What’s more, you can include your children into the entire food-preparing activity.

As explained, by the Norland nanny rulebook, it’s important to make children independent from an early age.

If they feel an integral part of the preparatory actions, they will be curious about the rest of the adventure. Therefore, plan your activities with your kids and give them special roles during the preparations.

    1. Adapt your private things to children’s activities

It’s impossible to spend quality time with your children if you do different things at the same time.

That’s why parents should adjust their personal schedules to their kids’ obligations.

Logically, you’ll be at work when they’re in school.

What’s important is to organize all your other obligations and events with your children in mind.

For instance, you can have a coffee with your friends while your children are at their sports practice or music lessons. After that, you can spend some quality time having the aforementioned family meal.

Finally, try as much as you can to put your kids to sleep at the same time every single night. You can make small exceptions during the weekend but be strict about this sleeping policy on work days.

As a result, your children will get enough sleep to be properly concentrated in school. What’s more, they won’t feel the urge during the day, which will increase the quality of their life.

The same goes for parents, as well. If they manage to go to sleep at least by 11 pm or midnight, they won’t be excruciated when they come back home from work. Therefore, they’ll have more will and energy to go out and take part in some interesting activities with their children.

    The final word

While it’s impossible to survive without working, it’s extremely important not to get obsessed with work and money. In families where the money is the key measure of success parents usually don’t have enough time for their children.

Even though this doesn’t automatically mean that those children will fail, they’re deprived of their parents’ direct attention.

If parents spend more time with their kids, every family member will feel more positive emotions and other benefits. It will be easier for children to overcome some challenges in school or in their private life if they know they can count on their parents.

We hope that our organizational tips and suggestions will help parents find more time to be with their kids and enjoy their upbringing.

After all, we brought them to this world to make our lives better, as we. So, let’s commit ourselves to our children and show them care and attention every single day.

  • Teach the importance of worship to your kids- a Key for Mental Peace

  • Why early learning is so important???

Why early learning is so important???

Researchers show that half of the child’s adult intelligence is formed during the first 5 years.

That is why it is very important that parents have to provide their child the best possible environment at home and choose a preschool which has a stimulating environment that will shape his entire life.

Our little ones brain is just like a blank paper and we parents work for them as a permanent marker, what we tell them , what we do in-front of them all get imprinted in their mind forever.

Kids have the urge to know about everything that surrounds them. Their mind is full of curiosities and new ideas. Its the duty of parents to listen and answer all their curiosities and make them satisfied.

Want to share today’s incident with all mothers. When I took my daughter for a nap after lunch, I always ask her to put questions which came in her little mind about anything .That’s my daily routine because its very common in every children, when we ask them to sleep that was the time when they talk the most. 😁So I decided to let her talk for a while instead of saying again and again, “soo jao  bacha soo jao”.

So today she asked “mumma bedsheets kaise banti hai”, Wow I feel so good and surprised that her little mind think so much. I started answering her, after some time she said, mumma google pe pics dikhao na printing factories ki. I was just like😳 haww.😃

One thing I learned from today’s incident, what terms we parents use in our day to day life , out little one catches that easily, it doesn’t matter how tricky it was.
Experts says learning power in growing babies are much more in comparison to adults.
It’s really true. Whatever we teach our kids in there childhood, they remember it life long.
Here is the video of my 3 year old daughter answering some questions that I taught her .

I have not spend much time to get her learn all this. Just made her  fooding time a quality time.
I tell you feeding a baby is one of the most challenging task for mothers. My daughter spend half an hour easily to finish half paratha. So I decided to enjoy this time instead of loosing my patience.

I taught her many rhymes , family members name , her relation with them, birth date of her, our house address. I think these are the first things we should teach our baby when they started to understand things. Alphabet and numbers are the second think after that . In between some general knowledge questions can be taught, and really kids enjoyed grasping it. One most important think , don’t forget to reward your kids with “excellent, brilliant, awesome, good beta, love you beta, you are the best etc. These word helps in building their confidence and encourage them to always learn something new.

Please share with me your child activities, what he is interested in. What you make him learn at his starting age. I will be happy to read it.

Finger and thumb sucking – What to do about it..

Finger sucking is often a symptom of hunger, boredom, shyness, teething, fatigue and sleep.

Some newborn babies put their fingers in the mouth as a signal of hunger. But around 3 month they again start putting their fingers in the mouth. Actually every child do this differently.

    • When my daughter started sucking her thumb she is just 3  months old. That time she looks so cute while sucking thumb and everyone say please don’t take her thumb out. Just watch her cuteness, but later it becames her addiction and weakness. she needs it badly while sleeping mainly.😢

Different Learning activities for 1 to 2 years baby

Now a days parents are so concerned about the overall development of their babies. Many mothers asks me that their baby is going to be 1 , so what things should they teach their little one?
I used to tell them, 1 year, oh my God! What can we teach to one year baby? They are so small to learn anything.
But I was wrong. One week back, my cousin sis in law come with her one year baby doll.
When I saw her, I was just wondering if my daughter looked so small someday?
Then I recalled my time, when I also behave like an anxious mother and never miss a chance to teach Nirvi.

If we try, we can teach small small things to our little one and believe me baby really enjoy grasping things.

15 ways to handle/ manage your Child’s Anger

I know some parents must be thinking (wondering) that “Do child get angry?” “How they express their anger?”.

Yes even babies can get angry and if you as a parent, don’t control their anger in proper time, it might grow as a habit to them.  See how infant show their anger:😮

    • The usual expression of anger is that child drop on the floor and starts yelling and pounding with his hands and feet and even bang his head as he is not big enough to abuse or attack the parents.
    • Children who are stubborn and not easily dis-tractable and those with intense emotions are likely to have more frequent and violent tantrums.
    • Sudden out-bursts of anger in young children (usually 1-3 years) are called temper tantrums. (more…)

    Toilet Training

Toilet training is a very important training that a parent should start at appropriate age. It is very relaxing for a mother when there baby start doing potty in the potty pan. But a proper effort should be made from both the side(mother and child) .

    • Toilet training should neither be aggressive nor left to the desire and fancies of the baby but a common sense approach should be followed.
    • The mother should not be over anxious or rigid in her approach.

Food chart for 3 to 4 year school going kids

When kids complete their 3 year, its the time for the mother to relax a bit as the kids are now all set to go to school. But at the same time new worries start lingering and one of them is the kid’s food schedule. After some research and suggestion from elders, I came up with a food chart & diet plan for my 3 year old kid.

My daughter is good in everything except eating. This is one and only one problem that I was facing after she completed her six month. My mother – in law consoled me by saying “when she starts to going school, a proper routine will set and she will learn to finish her food without saying much nodding“. It actually happened. 😀 At least she started finishing small paratha that I packed in her lunch box. Now her sleeping and food routine are finally getting better.

  • The Process of Development

    The Process of Development

Unlike a calf or a colt who are up on their legs soon after birth and can search their food, human baby is dependent and at the mercy of care takers for at least 4-5 years. The slow process of neuromotor development in human babies is the price we pay for highly evolved and complex brain that we are endowed with. Human brain is more fascinating experience to watch children grow as they learn new skills and pranks every other week or month. The dependent baby gradually become more independent and interactive to explore the world around him.
