It also contain lots of healthy nutrients such as protein, dietary fiber, niacin, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, potassium, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium and zinc .
If it contain that much nutrients, then what we are waiting for? Let’s start making a recipe out of it so that we and our family get more benefited.
Today I’ve prepared turmeric chutney with raw turmeric. I am very happy because everyone liked it even my daughter also have it without saying much no.
So I decided to share my happiness with you all by sharing this easy and healthy recipe. Shall we start?
- Peeled and roughly chopped turmeric (as shown in the picture).
- Garlic,Ginger and Green chilly paste(add chilly according to taste).
- (Gooseberry ) Amla (optional) – take its seeds out
- Salt to taste
- Dry mango powder(amchur)
- Coriander powder
- Lemon juice
- Garam masala and red chilly powder.
- Mustard seeds – 1tsp
- Asafoetida – a pinch.
- Mustard oil /refined oil or any other oil that you like to use.
Now get ready to make your hand yellow and your grinder too..
Method of preparation:
At first grind all the turmeric and amla together and make a fine paste. Add coriander powder while grinding. Remember awla is optional but I added it because of its health benefits and it also enhance the taste.
Heat the pan and add one tablespoon of oil. Once the oil get heated add mustard seeds and asafoetida to it.
Add the ginger garlic paste and saute it for 2 minutes. When its color starts changing add turmeric and amla paste to it.
Now add all the other spices and salt and mix well. Now lower the flame and cover it for 3-4 minutes.
Check it , when the oil comes above the surface switch off the flame and add lemon juice to it.
Hmmmm …… yummmyyyy , healthy chutney is ready to served with chapati or thepla.
One of the best thing about this chutney is that you can use it for more than a week, just put it in the refrigerator after serving.
My daughter and husband loves to have it when I apply the chutney in the chapati and make a roll.
Now when sometimes in a hurry I make a roll of chapatti , instead of applying tomato ketchup and bhujia over the chapati I prefer to apply the turmeric chutney.
Hope you too try it in your home and tell me the response of your kids and family members over the new recipe.
